Win The Arcadian, Part Two
I asked in last week’s post if our readers would be interested in a drawing (as in, me pulling ten winning tickets out of a hat) to win the “two-pack” promo piece that includes signed copies of THE ARCADIAN and its predecessor, A MAN AT ARMS, plus some other fun goodies.
The answer was a resounding yes.
So we’re doing it!
Apologies to our overseas friends … shipping and customs are such a pain, we have to restrict this drawing to the continental U.S. Sorry!
Diana and I will be out of pocket next week so we can’t get the event going instantly, but as soon as we’re back, we’ll announce dates and rules.
Further to our ongoing discussion about indie promoting of a book or other event, let me repeat my recommendation. Do it!
I can’t cite hard proof that such an event sells books, but it’s fun, it’s free, and it definitely gets attention. We did one a few months ago where the prize was three “scholarships” to a video class I had done. 600 people sent in entries … so many we had to buy a bigger fishbowl to pluck the winning tickets out of.
If you’re promoting anything—a book, an online course, a yoga retreat, you-name-it—it’s not a bad idea to offer a couple of free versions … and have a drawing for those prizes, live, on Instagram or some other social media platform.
It’s fun and it gets eyeballs.

Dates and details coming soon for the drawing to win THE ARCADIAN promo “two-pack.”
Great stuff, as ever – thanks Steve. And of course good luck with it 👍. Your inspiring advice and insights will serve me and others well when we come to Indie-publish our works, I’m sure.
Best wishes from Leicester, England.

There are many creative free and low cost marketing avenues. Plus its fun to create these things, and can connect you with others. Simply asking for word of mouth recommendations is always a good idea. Its the most trusted form of marketing.
I always appreciate you sharing your ideas and creative approach with us, Steve! It’s wicked fun to see what you’re up to and it helps me to generate some of my own fun ideas too! Thanks for being you and for being so generous with us about your process.
